The collection site is the Tsuruoka City Environmental Policy Division and its recovered paper collection building (operated by Tsuruoka City). Eligibility is limited to used clothing, recovered paper, digital devices, mercury-containing products, and similar items from households within Tsuruoka City; burnable waste, oversized waste ("sodai gomi"), items from businesses, and items from households outside Tsuruoka City cannot be accepted. The hours are 9:00 to 11:30 on the third Sunday of the month, and on weekdays (excluding Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays, and December 29 to January 3) 8:30 to 11:50 and 13:00 to 17:00.
Notes on putting items out
Because eligibility is limited to items from households within Tsuruoka City, people living outside the city and items from businesses cannot be brought in. Hours also differ between Sunday and weekdays, so be sure to check before you visit. When handling products that contain mercury, such as fluorescent tubes, it is generally recommended to take care not to break them.
